An Integrated Approach - Electronic Government

For the last two decades, the Government has been spending more than three billions Ringgit on ICT software, telecommunications equipment, project management and systems development. To improve daily operations and services, programs like information System Plan (ISP) were used for each ministry and other agencies which aim at sharing of common information systems among government agencies. Large allocations were given to ministries which contributes towards government revenue collection like road transport department, immigration department, royal Malaysian Police and National Registration department. Agencies like the Social Security Organization and the office of the Register of businesses for the country were not neglected too. With E-Government programs the government department and agencies were heading towards an era of modernization and efficiency using information technology and multimedia and coordination.
